PASCO, Wash. – Pasco is in the process of selecting a new leader following Pasco Mayor Pete Serrano's appointment as the interim U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Washington.
The city council now faces the task of appointing a new council member.
Alyssa Warner, the city's communications and outreach coordinator, provided insights into the next steps.
The city council has 90 days to appoint a new member to fill the District Four seat for the remainder of Serrano's term, which ends this year.
As Serrano was running unopposed for another term, the council will need to appoint someone for the new term starting in January, which will last until December 31, 2028.
