SPOKANE, Wash. – The struggle of focusing in school is a reality for many children, especially those facing food insecurity. For some, school-provided meals may be their only source of nutrition.

Most school districts offer free or reduced lunch programs to address this issue, but weekends can still pose a challenge. This is where 2nd Harvest’s Bite 2 Go program steps in, providing bagged meals for children to take home over the weekend.

Currently, the program is facing a shortage, putting 300 local children at risk of losing access to these vital food services. In response, NonStop Local has launched a fundraising campaign with the goal of raising $82,000 to cover meal costs for these children.
