The huge array of sentimental locks attached to the bridge is set to be completely wiped out in a matter of months

Love locks on a Nottingham bridge are set to be removed over concerns they are weighing down the structure. The Wilford Suspension Bridge - which connects The Meadows and West Bridgford over the River Trent - currently sits covered in sentimental padlocks.

Often placed by couples, friends and families as a symbol of lasting love, the bridge is one of many across the world that's become synonymous with the locks.

But water supplier Severn Trent says the padlocks are at risk of weighing down the structure - making it unsafe for pedestrians to walk across.
