CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Police say they are searching for the gun after a teenage boy was shot in his hand overnight.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 4000 block of Palos Street off Rosemont Avenue in West Price Hill around 8 p.m. Tuesday.

They said they found a 16-year-old boy suffering from what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his right hand.

The teen was taken to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, where he is expected to recover.

“The shooting is being investigated as self-inflicted,” said Captain Stephen Bower.

“The firearm was not recovered, but casings were recovered at the scene.”
