Far-right influencer and ally to President Donald Trump Laura Loomer is actively working to sabotage a top White House official’s alleged bid for the White House in 2028, Politico reported Wednesday.

Loomer, who despite not being a government officials continues to wield “breathtaking influence” over the Trump administration, launching several successful campaigns to oust government officials she views as not adequately loyal to the administration, now has her sights set on Health and Human Services Secretary RFK Jr., who she says has “clear intention” to run for president in 2028.

“I’m not naive enough to think that the president is going to get rid of RFK, but I will say that… there are concerns about some of the staffing decisions over at HHS,” Loomer told Politico Wednesday.

Loomer admitted that despite her heavy influence on the administration, she was unlikely to convince the Trump to fire RFK Jr., but that his principal deputy chief of staff and senior counselor, Stefanie Spear, was a more realistic target.

“I think that there’s a clear intention by Stefanie Spear to utilize her position to try to lay the groundwork for a 2028 RFK presidential run,” Loomer said, citing “sources in HHS” as to her knowledge of the alleged White House bid.

A senior HHS official, speaking with Politico on the condition of anonymity, did not deny that RFK Jr. was mulling a presidential run in 2028, and comments from an anonymous Trump administration official support that claim as well, telling Politico that they “would not be surprised if [Kennedy is] thinking about” a 2028 White House bid.

A self-proclaimed “proud Islamaphobe,” Loomer has been tied to a number of high-profile firings in the Trump administration, including the firing last month of April Doss, the National Security Agency’s top lawyer, and the resignations of Vinay Prasad from the Food and Drug Administration and Adam Schleifer at the Justice Department.

Loomer has also been tied to the firings of more than half a dozen NSA officials in April, and continues to meet regularly with top White House officials, including a recent
