LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
GE Appliances is making a major move to expand manufacturing in the U.S., including in Louisville.
The company plans to invest over $3 billion dollars in its American plants over the next five years.
That includes the $490 million announced in June that is being used to move washer and dryer production from China to Louisville .

Officials will share more details about the investment at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning at Appliance Park.
The sweeping investment aims to accelerate product innovation, expand production capacity and modernize the company’s 11 manufacturing plants across the country.
