COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Rain coverage will be less likely starting Thursday and Friday which will allow the heat to build in the days ahead, more so than the last couple weeks. Highs will climb well into the 90s again.

We’ll have sun and building clouds on this Wednesday. It will be dry to start with a wave of scattered showers and storms moving in from the southwest during the midday and afternoon hours. Rain coverage looks to be around 60%, but it will be fairly quick moving. Most of us won’t get rain more than 30 minutes. Highs in the mid 80s to near 90 degrees.

The chance of rain and storms lingers in spots through the night Wednesday. Lows early Thursday will be in the low to mid 70s.
