TOWN OF WAPPINGER – A woman was killed Tuesday morning after being struck by a car on Myers Corners Road near Schable Court, in the area of Myers Corners Elementary School. The accident occurred around 9 a.m. and the road was closed for an extended time while state troopers investigated the wreck.

New Hackensack firefighters performed CPR on the victim and the aid continued while she was being transported to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

The New York State Police are continuing the investigation.
