HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will hold a news conference Wednesday morning at the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

The event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.

The governor will be joined by Jay Collins, the state’s newly-appointed lieutenant governor. The Republican state senator from Tampa was tapped Tuesday for the position, which had been vacant since February when former Lt. Gov. Jeannette Nunez became interim president of Florida International University .

No other details about the Wednesday news conference have been shared ahead of time.
