JAMESTOWN — Football season is quickly approaching but not everyone is quite ready to say goodbye to summer and baseball.
Those people will be at McElroy Park this Saturday.
The official grand opening for the newly renovated Al Boelke baseball complex is scheduled for Aug. 16.
"At 5 o'clock over at Gould Family Field, we'll have a ceremonial first pitch and a ribbon cutting and then at 5:30 p.m. there will be a short three- to five-inning amateur baseball game," Jamestown Area Youth Baseball (JAYBAL) president Matt Perkins said. "After that, in the plaza area we'll have a band — Buffalo Alice — playing and there will be a cash bar and food trucks so there will be options for people to eat, drink and socialize.
