MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - As students in Montgomery County are heading back to school on Wednesday, it means the school zone cameras and school bus cameras are back in effect on the roads.

And you don’t want to be the person finding a citation for violating laws relating to school zones or passing school buses in the mail.

It’s a $100 fine driving 10 miles per hour over the school zone speed limit at at Eastern Montgomery High School, Belview Elementary School, Price’s Fork Elementary School and the Auburn Schools strand within Montgomery County. These are the MCPS schools that all have photo-enforcement cameras in their school zones.

It’s another $250 if you drive past a MCPS school bus while the stop sign is extended.
