ASHEVILLE, N.C. —

A man is headed to prison for a shooting at a hotel in Asheville, North Carolina, that left two people seriously injured.

On Wednesday, the Buncombe County District Attorney’s Office announced that 22-year-old Edzavious Javon Lindsay has been sentenced to more than 20 years in prison for a shooting that occurred at a hotel in February.

Around 11:11 p.m. on Feb. 24, officers with the Asheville Police Department responded to a shooting at a hotel on Tunnel Road.

When officers arrived, they found a man who was shot twice. A woman was also found with two gunshot wounds.

Officials said the woman's 2-year-old daughter was asleep in the bed next to her at the time of the shooting.
