A hit and run collision left a pedestrian with serious injuries in Panorama City and police Wednesday are searching for the driver.

Los Angeles Police Department officers responded at 11:35 p.m. Tuesday to the intersection of Roscoe Boulevard and Tobias Avenue where they found the pedestrian lying in the roadway, LAPD Officer Charles Miller told City News Service.

The driver did not stop to assist the pedestrian and sped away from the scene, so the collision has been classified as a hit and run, police said.

The pedestrian- whose name, age or gender were not immediately known- was taken to a hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics in serious condition.

Miller said the description of the vehicle is a light-colored or gold mini-van.
