HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Drivers should anticipate heavier than normal traffic near the University of Hawaii at Manoa during student move-in.

More than 3,500 students are moving into UH housing from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the following days:

Friday, Aug. 15: Walter Dods Jr. Residences for Innovative Student Entrepreneurs

Monday, Aug. 18: Hale Haukani

Tuesday, Aug. 19-Friday, Aug. 22: UH Manoa student housing

This will affect University Avenue, Dole Street, Metcalf Street and the H-1 Freeway University Avenue east- and west-bound off-ramps.

Signage will be in place and traffic modifications are planned, UH said.

Drivers should be vigilant along Dole Street and University Avenue due to increased pedestrian traffic, lane closures and frequent stops.
