CHICAGO — A Chicago woman is now facing an attempted murder charge in connection with a hit-and-run crash on the city's Far South Side back in April.

According to Chicago police, 28-year-old Ashley Hamilton, a Far South Side resident, has been charged with one felony count of attempted first-degree murder.

Officers say the charge stems from an incident that allegedly unfolded in the 400 block of West 112th Street in Roseland on Saturday, April 26, when Hamilton was allegedly a passenger in a vehicle that was used to intentionally strike an 18-year-old girl who was running along South Stewart Avenue in the area.

The victim was later hospitalized in critical condition.
