CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Chattanooga area experienced devastating flash flooding on Tuesday evening.

A mother, father, and child were killed when a tree fell on their car in East Ridge, a suburb of Chattanooga, overnight.

Hamilton County EMA believes saturated ground caused the large tree to fall on the vehicle.

Additionally, interstates and roads were shut down due to the flooding. However, several cars have already gotten stuck on Interstate 24 and other roads.
