ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A 50 year-old man dies more than a week after being stabbed.

On July 29, shortly after 6 a.m., District 1 officers were called to the 100 block of Fassen Street. The man was found injured but conscious and breathing after the stabbing.

He informed officers that he knew the person that stabbed him during the fight.

The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition but was later stabilized and released on Aug. 2.

On Aug. 7, the man returned to the hospital and readmitted due to complications, later dying on Aug. 10.

The identity of the man has not been released as the family is yet to be notified.

An autopsy determined that the man died from complications of his original injuries.
