ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Last minute preparations are underway at school districts across the St. Louis region, as many students will return to class August 18th. St. Louis Public Schools will have a new bus provider this school year.
“But I am extremely excited and frankly elated about the new transportation company we have,” said Tracy Fantini, a parent and co-chair of the Parent Action Council.
Confusion and chaos marked the start of school for SLPS last year after Missouri Central Bus Company canceled its contract in March.
The district signed a 3-year and $30 million dollar contract with Zum Services.
At Tuesday’s board meeting, Square Watson, chief of operations, told board members that the company was providing bus drivers for all 220 routes and would have extra drivers
