RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Young builders in the Northern Nevada Literacy Council (NNLC) YouthBuild program are putting their construction skills and knowledge to work for a good cause.

The YouthBuild program provides youth ages 16-24 with the opportunity to achieve a high school equivalency certification, and complete the Multi-Craft Core Curriculum (MC3) certification, at the same time.

The goal of the MC3 program is to provide information, education, and training to high school age students and other individuals about the construction industry and building trades registered apprenticeship career programs.

At YouthBuild, students are required to participate in community outreach and service organizations. NNLC believes there is tremendous value in having their youth builders participate in
