NEBRASKA (KCAU) — The Enable Savings Plan, a Nebraska savings program for people with disabilities, has reached 10 years and continues to grow each day.

The Nebraska program was created in 2015 following a similar plan Congress created the year prior. Residents with disabilities are able to sign up, and they can use the money saved for disability-related expenses like housing, healthcare etc.

To qualify, locals must receive social security benefits or have a doctor's certification of the disability. The Nebraska State Treasurer said throughout the past two years, the number of accounts has grown by 27% as there are around 4,500 people on the plan.
