SLOAN, Iowa (KCAU) - The Westwood Rebels are hard at work preparing for a new season. But this year, something is different. Someone is missing.

"He's been a great coach. A great friend to me," nodded junior cornerback Brady Babel.

"Just bonded with us right away. Just an amazing coach," senior safety Kayden Versch added,

Defensive backs coach Brady Butters is stepping away to serve as part of a different line of defense with the National Guard in Syria.

"We think a lot of Coach Butters, and we just wanted to honor him. The more we talked about it, we realized there were a lot more people directly tied to Westwood there. So, we wanted to honor all of those people," explained head coach Cass Burkhart.
