GILBERT, AZ (AZFamily) — An East Valley chicken restaurant is looking for a thief who stole a cardboard cutout of the chain’s famous 7-foot founder.

Big Chicken was founded by a group that includes NBA Hall-of-Famer Shaquille O’Neal. So, naturally, its Gilbert location has a cardboard cutout of the retired center.

But now, that cardboard cutout, named Flat Shaq, has vanished. The restaurant says a suspect came into the restaurant recently and stole the cutout.

The theft was caught on the restaurant’s surveillance camera. Watch the footage at the top of this story.

Big Chicken Gilbert is asking the community to help track down the suspect and return Flat Shaq to the store.

The real Shaq will be in the Valley this weekend for his Shaquille’s Bass All-Stars festival in Chandler.
