HAMILTON COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) - Two people are facing dozens of charges after Hamilton County officials uncovered what Hamilton County Sheriff Brian S. Creech called one of the worst cases of animal cruelty and hoarding the county has seen.
Joan Ellis, 67, and Jeffrey Ellis, 64, both of Jasper, Florida, were arrested Tuesday and transported to Hamilton County Jail, where they face charges of 11 counts of aggravated animal cruelty and 41 counts of animal cruelty, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a press release Wednesday.
Additionally, Jeffrey Ellis faces several other charges, including obstruction of law enforcement during the execution of a search warrant, resisting arrest with violence and assault on a law enforcement officer, the sheriff’s office said.
