(FOX40.COM) — Three people were arrested early Wednesday morning after shoplifting at a gas station and being involved in a fight, according to the Elk Grove Police Department.

Police said officers responded to reports of a robbery in progress around 2 a.m. at a gas station in the 8100 block of Sheldon Road.

According to EGPD, the 22-year-old and 21-year-old suspects were shoplifting when employees confronted them, and a fight ensued.

A Hummer stopped at the scene of the fight, and the 23-year-old driver, assumed to be associated with the incident, threatened to run over the employees and said they would return with guns, police said.

All three suspects took off in the Hummer before police found them and detained them.
