One man is dead and homicide detectives have been called out to a gas station in Maple Ridge Wednesday morning.

Members of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team haven’t released any details yet but they are on site and have set a tent up at a gas station located at 24009 Dewdney Trunk Road.

Ridge Meadows RCMP said a man was shot in the area of 246 Street and 124 Avenue shortly after midgnight.

Police located an unresponsive victim with apparent gunshot wounds inside a vehicle in the 24000-block of Dewdney Trunk Road. Paramedics tried to save his life but he died.

The area is cordoned off for the investigation, now being led by IHIT.
