Proactive patrol efforts by the North Bay Police Service led to the recovery of a stolen vehicle and the arrest of one man.

On August 9, just before noon, officers conducting a proactive R.I.D.E. stop identified and charged an unlicensed driver. In the absence of a licensed driver, the vehicle was towed after officers were unable to contact the registered owner.

Further investigation determined the vehicle had been involved in a collision earlier that day, with the driver allegedly fleeing the scene. The vehicle had been subsequently reported stolen from a business in the Jet Street area. Investigators were able to connect the accused and the vehicle to all related incidents.
