AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Just days after opening sign-ups for emergency rental and utility assistance, Augusta-Richmond County has suspended applications.

Officials sent out an alert Wednesday about the suspension, saying they don’t expect the intake process to reopen.

“However, we remain committed to serving our community and will share information about any future,” city officials said in the alert.

Augusta leaders delay SPLOST, raise trash and streetlight fees

Leaders were expected to decide Tuesday what would go on the list of proposed SPLOST 9 projects. They didn't do that.

About a week ago, officials opened applications, then a few days later said applications would only be taken at some outreach events instead of at the municipal building.
