DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A home health care worker is facing several felonies in Durham County after fraud was committed against a client, deputies said Wednesday.
According to the Durham County Sheriff's Office, an investigation began in mid-July when the daughter of a Durham woman reported her mother's checkbook was missing several checks. She said three checks were paid to a former in-home caregiver, later identified as 33-year-old Victoria Lowry of Red Springs, an employee of Lilies of Hope Health Agency in Lumberton.
The investigation also revealed several bottles of the victim's prescription medication were missing from her home, according to the sheriff's office.
