Calgary police are asking for the public’s help to identify a male suspect in a random assault that occurred at the Marlborough CTrain station last month.

Police say a man standing on the CTrain platform was approached from behind and assaulted by the suspect at around 4:25 p.m. on July 11.

“The victim fell to the ground, where he briefly lost consciousness, and the suspect fled the scene,” police said in a news release.

Police say the victim and the suspect were unknown to each other, and the assault appears to have been random.

The victim was taken to hospital in stable condition and has since been released, police said.
