HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- New grizzly details were revealed in court about how officers tracked down a murder suspect from a deadly bike path incident.

Aaron Sheehan, 40, is charged with murder in the fatal stabbing of 77-year-old Anival Ortiz.

According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded to the stabbing call at around 5:55 a.m. on Aug. 8 at 123 North Drennan Street, where they found Ortiz with a stab wound.

Police say the 77-year-old was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Sheehan was arrested days later and scheduled to appear in court.

However, on his court date, he wasn't there. The judge said it was because he was in the mental health unit.

During the hearing, the judge laid out some of the details from the deadly incident.
