As the summer starts to come to a close, so does the season Fort Saskatchewan’s famous grass cutting sheep.

The sheep herd will be headed out of the Fort for the final time ths year on August 30 at the Fort Heritage Precinct.

The Fort’s Summer Send-off will include the Sheep Leaving Parade, as well as Alberta Day activities and the Fort Heritage Precinct’s 150th anniversary celebration.

The parade will take place from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m., with a carrot feeding opportunity right after.

The Alberta Day celebrations will start right after at noon, with inflatables, face painting and tattoos, a theatre performance and on-site blacksmiths.
