NEW YORK (WBTV) - Bojangles is headed to New York City.

The Charlotte-born restaurant chain announced the signing of a 20-unit agreement on Wednesday, Aug. 13.

What to know

The agreement is expected to bring more than 50 Bojangles to the New York City and New Jersey areas over the next 10 years.

Construction is reportedly already underway for the first location, which is slated to open this winter in Brooklyn.

“The East Coast is craving the authentic, Southern charm that Bojangles delivers, and we’re excited to introduce locals to something new,” said Jose Armario, CEO of Bojangles.
