HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - On Monday, the University of Hawaii announced that fans statewide will be able to watch Rainbow Warrior home games live on television without pay-per-view fees or delays for the first time in decades.

UH Athletic Director Matt Elliott appeared on Sunrise on Wednesday to elaborate on Monday’s announcement and what the future of televised UH sports could look like.

“This is a really exciting moment for us and and it was just about accessibility and exposure,” Elliott said.

When it comes to media rights and the future of televised sports, Elliott said its about the packages conferences can put together. The expectation is to eventually have permanent television and streaming partners.
