The Vacaville City Council voted unanimously to adopt the city’s inaugural Arts and Culture Master Plan, as well as a revised Arts Advisory Committee Policy and a Public Arts Program Policy at its Tuesday evening meeting. The Arts and Culture Master Plan will provide a framework for public arts expansion in the city, but it does not allocate further funding toward the effort.

Recreation Manager Melody Land provided the staff presentation on the new plan. As part of the revision process, Vacaville hosted community arts workshops known as “Weaving Our Future,” where more than 100 residents created a piece of art for City Hall. The city also hosted an online survey on the issue that garnered 107 respondents.
