KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The city of Knoxville is considering selling land in Chilhowee Park to Emerald Youth Foundation, a city council agenda draft showed.

On Tuesday, the city council is scheduled to vote on a resolution that would authorize Mayor Indya Kincannon to enter a purchase and development agreement with Emerald Youth.

The agreement would allow Emerald Youth to develop land on the south side of Magnolia Avenue, bounded by Magnolia Avenue, Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Alice Street and North Beaman Street.

The land would be used to serve East Knoxville families and young people, as well as the broader community, through education, sports, wellness and other activities, the agenda draft showed.
