The Vacaville City Council will review its internal policies and legislative priorities through two subcommittee reviews in the upcoming year in order to prepare the council for the 2026 election.

City Manager Savita Chaudry said the council handbook review and legislative platform review will be a one-year process in which councilmembers will work with staff to review all policies and procedures of the City Council. Staff may bring one policy at a time to the council, she said, or may bring them all at once, but the new handbook must be adopted when the 2026 election cycle is complete in January 2027.
