A New Orleans attorney who has been indicted in a wide-ranging staged wrecks scheme and accused of violating her bond conditions by gambling at a Mississippi casino will remain out of jail until trial.

According to Vitter, the government did not provide enough proof that she left the state without permission. Vitter also ruled that Motta did not violate her bond conditions because gambling was not prohibited as a condition of her bond.

The government wanted Motta's bond revoked due to concerns she would not be able to pay restitution to potential victims if convicted.
