WASHINGTON — Like many in D.C., Anacostia residents are wondering what the next 30 days will look like as federal authorities prepare to start 24-hour patrols starting Wednesday night.

This comes after President Trump’s Monday announcement that D.C.’s police force is now under federal control, and hundreds of men and women from the National Guard will be patrolling the District.

Soldiers have already been seen at the National Mall, the DEA was seen with MPD at Union Station, and the FBI has been spotted at the Wharf and Navy Yard.

Now, people are wondering what it’ll be like to live with federal authorities on patrol, all day, seven days a week.
