HENDERSON, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Goode family is in desperate need after a fire the morning of Aug. 7 tore through their Vance County home.

Mishay and Jesse Goode live on Gun Club Road in Henderson along with their eight children, ranging in ages from 1 to 14. The couple is also expecting their ninth child, a baby girl, in five weeks.

"And I don't have a place to stay," said Mishay Goode. "I know it's tough. I'm not supposed to be stressing."

She told ABC11 that one of her sons woke up early Thursday morning and noticed a glow in one of the bedrooms and quickly realized it was fire.

"We were all asleep. I was sleep, too. And if it wasn't for my son, we would have still been in there," Mishay said. "He said, Mom, get up. We have to go. There's a fire in the boy's room. And I was like, Exc
