Over 200,000 toy play kitchens are being recalled after a toddler was killed while playing with one in 2023, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

Backyard Kids is recalling 192,000 KidKraft Farm to Table Model Play Kitchens and is urging parents to immediately stop using the toy and remove the dangerous hooks.

The recall stems from an incident in February 2023 when a 23-month-old in Oregon died from asphyxiation after his shirt became snagged on one of the wooden hooks while he was climbing on the back of the play kitchen, and he was unable to free himself, the commission wrote.
