Hot weather will continue across the ArkLaMiss. We will also have more rain chances through Friday. By the week, rain will be less of a threat, with more heat on the way. The hot weather will linger into next week as well. We are also watching the tropics. As of now, Tropical Storm Erin will continue to push west but will turn north over the weekend, avoiding any direct impacts to the United States. We are also watching an area of interest in the southern Gulf. As a disturbance in the western Caribbean pushes west, it could move into the southern Gulf and form into a tropical system. We will continue to monitor this area and connected disturbance for any development over the next few days. Stay cool and dry.
