In the Pulaski County School System, the first day of school is often about welcoming new principals and administrators. This year, it was about a new school.

The new Burnside Elementary opened its doors to students officially on Wednesday as classes got underway in both the Pulaski County School District and the Science Hill Independent District. Somerset Independent Schools started classes last week.
