LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — The city of Las Vegas will not pursue a change to the noise ordinance for the Arts District, city officials announced Wednesday.
The development comes after small-business owners, artists and community activists spoke out against the potential changes .
“It’s clear the majority does not favor a change,” said Councilmember Olivia Diaz, who represents Ward 3. “The Arts District is an authentic, homegrown area that we want to ensure remains vibrant and energized for years to come.”
The Arts District’s current noise ordinance exemption will remain in place. Under it, outdoor live music can continue until 2 a.m. on weekdays. The drafted ordinance was expected to restrict it to 10 p.m.
