The Taste of the Danforth has been cancelled for a second year in a row.

That means no food vendors, live music, entertainment or other attractions along the city’s Greektown neighbourhood this weekend. The event is traditionally held during the second week of August.

According to a statement sent to the from Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow’s office: “The organizers did not apply for either festival funding or a street permit for this year. No permit or funding applications in 2025.”

While the executive director for the Greektown BIA told the in an email that she wasn’t authorized to comment, the the chair of the Greektown BIA told CTV the group is working to bring back the festival next year.
