KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- In February 2024, the historic Warwick Theatre in Midtown was damaged in a devastating fire. That same month, thieves broke into the building multiple times.
Despite all the setbacks, the Warwick has been repaired and its doors are open again.
“There was $1.6 million worth of damage to this building, and then there was about $1,000,000 of insurance money to try to fix it, which makes it an uphill battle, and so you start at the bottom of the hill and go, okay, is that even possible?” said Karen Paisley the producing artistic director for the Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre.
