MIDDLETON (WKOW) -- Middleton High School is celebrating two students who have been selected for a special college prep program.

Brianna Carson and Sennie Kidau were named Galin Scholars.

Scholars receive individualized ACT prep, college advising, academic tutoring, and can participate in extracurricular activities at no cost to their families.

It's the first time any Middleton area student has been chosen.

Galin Scholars supports greater Madison area students with strong academic potential from demographics underrepresented in college.

This year, six rising 11th grade students from across Dane County joined the program’s third cohort. In addition to Briana and Sennie, scholars were selected from Sauk Prairie, Madison East, Madison Vel Phillips Memorial, and Verona Area high schools.
