The body of a 47-year-old New Jersey man who went missing in Iowa last week has been recovered from the Missouri River, authorities said.
Akshay Arora, of Hillsborough, was identified by police in Sioux City, Iowa on Tuesday, the department said in a statement.
Arora’s work colleagues had reported him missing at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 6 after he didn’t show up for a flight. He had last been heard from at 5 a.m.
At about 9 p.m. that day, a submerged vehicle with no one inside was pulled from the river, prompting additional searches along the water, officials said. The area was searched because the rental car’s GPS pinged near the river, KTIV.com reported.
The search continued during daylight hours until 5:05 p.m. on Friday, when a man’s body was pulled from from the river near the boat
