A toppled tree resulted in major power problems for Pulaski County on Wednesday, with outages affecting businesses, schools, roads and homes.

Drew Gardner, spokesperson for Kentucky Utilities, confirmed that the downed tree came into contact with electrical transmission lines around a transformer.
