SCOTTVILLE — With school just around the corner, many schools in Northern Michigan are already preparing for the new school year including at Mason County Central Schools and it’s not just curriculum at the forefront of their minds, but also security.
The district was sharing an additional layer of security they added two years ago with other Northern Michigan school districts. It included a demonstration of the AI gun detection system and how it’s been helping to keep students safe.
Mason County Central Schools superintendent Jeff Mount said they implemented an AI gun detection program, called ZERO EYES a few years back.
