A video has gone viral of a man rescuing a woman from a flood all across social media.
The man has now been identified as 22-year-old EPB employee, Troy Plemons. Plemons says that he was in between job sites and had to retrieve some supplies from his shop.
He took a re-route that guided him to the split of I-24 and I-75. Plemons recalls the woman's car "starting to float."
Plemons describes the woman "really struggling in her car" as almost if she was stuck. He noticed the front car was beginning to tip into the water.
Plemons and others first used a rope to try to save the woman. After realizing the rope was not going to work, Plemons says he "didn't think to do anything else but to just jump in and get her out."
He busted two windows of the car before pulling the woman out. Plemons
